We've been pretty shit of late with regards to bringing younger players through and it's starting to show with the old shit cunts who are too fucking slow we are playing instead.

Re: Antonio out for season
Spurs have Lamela and Winks out for the season
Wanyama has missed a few games recently
Walker & Rose have both been out for while and are just coming back.
Kane returned to the bench after a few weeks out last weekend
One of their other defenders .. Alderwerild ? .... has been out for a while I think.

The difference is they have players to step in. Because they don't have so much dross and have been blending their young players in to increase their depth.

Re: Antonio out for season
That's because at Spurs they have a group of highly-motivated players who aren't there just for the money. Antonio and Noble excepted, our outfield players seem happy to get and remain injured so they can watch their bank balances grow without the inconvenience of a crowd to satisfy.

Re: Antonio out for season
Funny Spurs seem to have almost the same team every week with just the odd injury we seem to have 4 or 5 out every week. Reid ogbonna obiang Antonio cresswell sakho and Carroll How would Spurs or any of the top sides cope with 7 first teamers out

Re: Antonio out for season
I get immune to this, dealing with a crippling injury list is part of the joy of being a West Ham fan. Think back to Simon Webster, Richard Hall, Kerion Dyer. All new signing who got crocked the moment we signed them. Then there's Andy 'hammer toe' Impey, the Dean Ashton tragedy, Devonshire flu. Dicks crippling his knee, Alvin Martin being out for an eternity the same with Stewart Robson etc etc. Funnily enough the season that we had a good run with injuries 85/86 and 2005/06 were years we had a reasonible amount of success, for us anyway.

Shame he was probably our best player this season.

Injuries are the fault of the medical team? How?

Re: Antonio out for season
What aspect of training? I's like saying 'Another hamstring injury?? I blame all the running about on match day'.

You chod.

Re: Antonio out for season
Your choice of words but I was right too.
Now it must be the training, warm up or medical team as mostly muscle injuries, many of which are recurring.
It's not normal.

Don't you remember when you used to screech all the injuries were down to our old training ground, Brenty?

Re: Antonio out for season
Yet another season blighted by injuries.
It's incredible the amount we get, must be about 10 seasons running. Always our best players. ౩ out for the season plus Tore. Our new record signing injured before HT on his debut then misses half a season. Sakho as good as out all season, has played about 45 mins. Carroll has missed more than half a season again. Reid has missed half a season again and is still out. Artur has missed more than half a season and Cresswell around half a season by the time he comes back.
Either we have too many injury prone players or something is still wrong with the training or the new training ground.

My money is on the training, no smoke without fire.

Re: Antonio out for season
I thought that luck was supposed to even itself out? If so, we deserve the next 10 consecutive seasons to be totally injury free. It won't happen though!

Re: Antonio out for season
Antonio, Obiang, Ogbona? all out till next season ...

This is all panning out rather nicely for Sullivan to say these will be like new signings next season so we don't need anyone else.

Yes. He only had to get through the Swansea game, and he was ok for the season, but now he misses 2 games.

Re: Antonio out for season
Oh and on the big 'risking him' debate, if he was sick hours before the arsenal game he should have been rested - playing him was foolish

Sniper 2:16 Thu Apr 13
Re: Antonio out for season
Gutted for him - works his nuts off, never really played in his best position and thoroughly earned his England call ups only to not play due to stupidity of the manager (bring Walcott on at home to Malta instead?!) and then injury.

Hope he's raring to go in August and does a Sinclair to eventually make the world cup cut

Wheres Ayew?

So what is the team going to look like now?

nychammer 1:39 Thu Apr 13
Re: Antonio out for season
He was sick against Arsenal and his hamstring going was just more bad luck in yet another truly unlucky season in the injury front. This club is truly under some curse.

Bilic needs to get what remains of our attackkng force up for the next game and let's beat Sunderland, we're still not safe, and let's put this season behind us.
